Danish architect David Thulstrup has designed PLATE for Reform, a kitchen system defined by raw materials and honest construction. The design features hand-brushed aluminum fronts that develop patina over time, creating a living surface that gains depth and character through use.
PLATE combines MDF and aluminum in an exposed construction that prioritizes durability and function. The hand-brushed aluminum finish creates a matte, tactile surface that subtly masks wear while maintaining its material integrity. The design includes integrated handles formed by the offset positioning of the characteristic metal plates.
The kitchen system reflects Thulstrup’s approach to materials as bare and honest as possible, creating an expression that adapts to both raw contemporary environments and softer interior backdrops. The brushed finish adds a human touch to the clear, uncompromising aesthetic.
