The Pod series is an excellent application of Martela’s Silence concept
PodSofa and PodSeat offer peace and quiet for people working in noisy spaces but also suit one-on-one discussions and phone calls when you want to make sure others will not be disturbed.
The PodSofa is a comfortable and sound-insulating seat for two. It can be used individually or in groups to create small, room-like spaces for common areas in activity-based offices. The window openings in the PodSofa also func-tion as armrests.
The nest-like PodSeat has the same features but seats one. The chair has a swivelling base so that the user can turn towards other people or away from them for privacy and quiet.
Thanks to their compact dimensions, the PodSofa and PodSeat are easy to place in different kinds of spaces and al-so to move around later.
o4i Design Studio
o4i is a Stockholm-based design office. Its idea is to create products that are suitable for mass production. It de-signs furniture for public indoor spaces and for business environments and home use.
o4i has received many international awards, including a Red Dot Award in 2005, a Good Design Award in 2005 and a Platinum ADEX award in 2007.
