Helge Sibast’s 1953 No 7 Chair Returns with New Wooden Seat
The Sibast No 7 dining chair with wooden seat represents a new chapter for Helge Sibast’s 1953 design icon.
Originally introduced during Denmark’s golden age of furniture design, this edition unites chair and frame in a single material, creating pure, natural harmony.

Helge Sibast designed the No 7 in 1953, testing the technical limits of wood moulding with its extraordinarily curved top rail. The embracing backrest combines sculptural character with exceptional seating comfort. The wooden seat enhances this unified expression, allowing the FSC-certified oak or beech to define the entire form.
The chair’s raised seat construction and elegantly tapered legs achieve a light, balanced silhouette. Available in multiple finishes including natural oil, white oil, black, and white pigmented lacquer, the No 7 adapts to both residential and contract settings. The design’s innovative curved back remains as relevant today as it was seven decades ago.
Sibast Furniture continues the legacy of this Danish design icon through careful material selection and refined craftsmanship. The wood seat edition brings lasting durability and timeless beauty to modern interiors while honoring the original vision of one of Denmark’s most respected furniture designers.
