The Vyn Armchair Wins the Golden Chair Product Award 2024

The armchair Vyn has been awarded the Golden Chair Product 2024 (Guldstolen Produkt 2024), a prestigious design award given by interior architects in Sweden.

Jury’s Statement

With extensive knowledge of function and Nordic furniture tradition, the Vyn seating furniture has evolved into an elegant armchair.

The frame is made of oak, and the seat cushion rests on a fabric stretched across the seat frame. The back upholstery is removable, and both cushion and back are made of high-quality leather. The chair is easy to handle, its surfaces can be cleaned, and the materials age beautifully. Its smart construction anticipates future renovations – a necessary approach to sustainability and lifecycle thinking. A long furniture life has been prepared and conceived already in the design phase. This demonstrates deep craftsmanship and technical production expertise.

The chair exemplifies an excellent collaboration between designer, producer, and an engaged end customer, where each has contributed their expertise. The process is characterized by local context, as all participants operate in the same region. Solid and elegant, the chair’s expression and relevance are grounded in the collaborators’ varied knowledge and experience.

Winner’s Motivation

Here one sits for a long time, alert and upright or comfortably settled in a piece of furniture created with artistic height through well-formed collaboration and great care for all its parts. Designed to suit an elegant restaurant environment with high demands for comfort, it works equally well in the office meeting room and break area as in the peaceful corner of a home. The jury predicts a future classic that will be passed down from generation to generation.
