Danish brand VERPAN marks the 100th birthday of Verner Panton with a visual timeline documenting six decades of his work
Photographer Casper Sejersen has captured the collection, presenting design not as static objects but as expressions of cultural movement.
The timeline begins in the early 1960s, when space-age optimism and new materials enabled lighter, more fluid forms. The Moon Lamp from 1960 and Barboy from 1963 reflect this era of scientific progress and modularity.
By the mid-1960s, Pop Art and youth culture reshaped attitudes toward color and experimentation. Panton responded with the Fun Series, Easy Series, and Series 270 F—designs that embraced rhythm, flexibility, and social interiors.
The late 1960s brought counterculture and immersive environments. The Spiegel Lamp, Cloverleaf Sofa, and VP Globe Pendant emerged from this period, exploring reflection, conversation, and floating transparency.
In the 1970s, informal living and improved home audio systems changed interior behavior. The Wire Lamp Series and System 1-2-3 seating accommodated relaxed postures and lighter visual structures.
The timeline concludes in the 1980s, when culture shifted toward precision and visual impact. The Pantop Series distilled Panton’s language into a confident, bell-shaped form—restrained yet recognizable.
Born in 1926, Verner Panton remains among the most influential Danish designers of the 20th century. VERPAN continues to produce his original designs.
