Nikari will present the ARKITECTURE YKA1 lounge chair at Matter and Shape, a design salon held at the Jardin des Tuileries in Paris from March 6 to 9, 2026
The YKA1 was designed in 2011 by Finnish professor Yrjö Kukkapuro and carpenter Kari Virtanen.
Its solid birch frame combines expert joinery with clean, precise lines — a balance of strength and lightness. Upholstered cushions in fabric or leather complete the chair’s interplay between comfort and form.
Kukkapuro’s carefully considered dimensions underpin the YKA1’s seating comfort, while its peacefully minimalistic expression makes it suitable for lobbies, lounges and private homes alike. The chair is finished in a natural wood oil mix and available with fabric or leather upholstery. Dimensions: W620 × D760 × H760/400 mm.
The YKA1 will be shown alongside other Kukkapuro designs at the Nikari stand during the four-day Paris event.
