Boullée — challenging the monotony of sitting still.

Materia’s 2015 newcomer is called Boullée. As the name suggests, designer Anders Johnsson was inspired by a pilates ball’s ergonomic shape to create a piece which keeps the user active.

”My passion lies in creating objects which have an effect on people, push the boundaries and question the status quo. I want to give people opportunities to meet and interact in new and exciting ways,” explains Anders.

Boullée’s unique shape provides a dynamic sitting experience, as part of which the users can move about and balance on the stool us- ing their own body weight. The seat encourages participants to be active in meetings, but is equally as suitable for use at desks, in lounge environments or in foyers.
