Artek presents a new stationery collection at Maison & Objet
At Maison & Objet Paris in September, Artek launches a new stationery collection called Outline. Designed by Helsinki-based graphic design studio TSTO, the Outline Collection is the latest chapter in Artek’s exploration of stationery items.
The graphics are an abstract take on the organic outlines of some of Alvar Aalto’s most emblematic products. The Nordic colour palette ranges across light grey, warm beige – not far from the blond tone of Finnish birch – deep blue and classic black. Carefully crafted details and a selection of beautiful paper qualities – Munken, Olin and Colorplan – make the Outline Collection a pleasant and practical everyday companion.
The collection includes notebooks in two sizes, a memo block, postcards and posters, all available in various colours. Posters have been central to Artek’s communication since the company was founded 80 years ago, and many have become sought-after collectors’ items.
About Artek
Artek was founded in 1935 in Helsinki by the young idealists Alvar and Aino Aalto, Maire Gullichsen and Nils-Gustav Hahl “to sell furniture and promote a modern culture of living by exhibitions and other educational means”.
Today, the Artek collection comprises furniture, lighting and accessories designed by Finnish masters and leading international designers. In the radical spirit of its founders, Artek remains one of the most innovative contributors to modern design, breaking new ground at the intersection of design, architecture and art.
