Skargaarden introduce the sleek H25 Lounge Chair – iconic design in a smaller size

It’s a reinterpretation of Björn Hultén’s iconic H55 chair, originally designed in 1955. This project, initiated by the talented team at @byla.landscape.architects in Idaho, USA, evolved into a sleeker glamping version of the original design.

What makes this new lounge chair even more special is that its final design received the seal of approval from Björn’s wife and longtime design collaborator, Barbro Hultén. The H25 represents timeless craftsmanship, tailored for today’s outdoor lifestyle. It fits seamlessly into both a sunny beachfront promenade and the snowy Alps.

We’re proud to introduce this design and can’t wait to see it recognized as a future classic like H55.

H55 – THE INSTANT SUCCESS

Björn Hultén remains one of Sweden’s most iconic furniture designers, leaving a lasting mark on Scandinavian design. Throughout his career, he crafted close to 200 chairs for a variety of settings. Among them, the H55 sun lounger, created in 1955, stands out as an enduring masterpiece. Its name nods to the 1955 Helsingborg Exhibition, where the chair made its debut and received overwhelming acclaim. This was no small feat, considering the presence of design legends like Alvar Aalto and Arne Jacobsen. With its simplistic form and perfect balance of function and comfort, the H55 remains a focal point in any garden or poolside space.
