Alexander Lervik opens gallery in Skåne
– collectible design as a long-term sustainability strategyIn connection with his move from Stockholm to Österlen, designer Alexander Lervik is opening his own gallery on the farm where he and his family now live, just outside Simrishamn.
The move marks both a lifestyle change and a conscious, long-term strategic step to increase his brand value on the secondary market for collectible design. Establishing himself in Skåne is not a departure from the international design scene, but rather a deepening of his involvement.
By working more consistently with unique and limited-edition objects in a gallery context, Lervik wants to strengthen his artistic expression and his position in the auction and collector’s market – something that will ultimately also affect the value of his commercial production. “The ambition is to build strong value in the collectible design market and its second-hand market.
When unique objects acquire a clear collector’s value, the value of commercial products on the secondary market also increases. This means that these products are also better cared for, used for longer, and can live on for future generations, says Alexander Lervik. For Lervik, this is a central part of his sustainability work. He believes that the greatest environmental contribution a designer can make is not primarily about the choice of materials, but rather that the products produced are timeless in design and of the highest quality so that they remain on the market for generations to come.
A product with high perceived and economic value is treated with greater respect. The user repairs, cares for, and keeps it—instead of replacing it. That is where true sustainability lies. As part of this strategy, Alexander Lervik has joined the Östra Skånes Konstnärsförening (East Skåne Artists’ Association) and participates in the very popular Konstrundan art tour during Easter, where the gallery on the farm becomes part of the regional art landscape.
At the same time, he is establishing himself more clearly internationally in collectible design. In early spring 2026, Lervik will open his first exhibition at the A4A Gallery in Brooklyn, New York, an important step in positioning his work in an international gallery context and further strengthening demand for his unique objects on the collector and auction market.
The premiere exhibition in the new gallery in Skåne is being held in collaboration with Kosta Boda and presents 15 unique glass vases, created together with the glassworks’ leading team of glassblowers. Each vase is unique, combining craftsmanship, material knowledge, and artistic form. The exhibition will be on display from April 3 to 12 in the gallery at Baskevägen 30, outside Simrishamn.
A selection of Alexander Lervik’s previous collectible objects will also be on display, including The Red Chair (No. 9 of 10) – represented in the collections of the National Museum in Oslo, the National Museum in Stockholm, and the Röhsska Museum.
With the gallery in Österlen, participation in Konstrundan, and the upcoming New York exhibition, Alexander Lervik is taking a comprehensive approach to his position in collectible design—with the long-term goal of building cultural value, economic sustainability, and objects that will stand the test of time.

You are invited to the Vernissage Thursday, April 2nd, 4–8 PM
Alexander Lervik has made Österlen his permanent home, opening his studio as a gallery during the Easter art tour — presenting 15 unique glass art objects created in collaboration with Kosta Boda.
