A new floor lamp completes Vipp’s Paper lamp collection
A new lighting duo, consisting of a pendant and a floor lamp, is the result of Vipp’s first pursuit into paper.
The Vipp Paper Lamp series is a Danish interpretation of the traditional East Asian paper lanterns that have been part of Chinese and Japanese culture for centuries. A symbiosis between Danish and Japanese design, which pays homage to simple and durable design.
The new floor lamp adds a pleasant light diffusion, ideal to illuminate smaller areas in any living space. The lampshade rests on a tripod base of dark brown powder-coated aluminum.
Developed in paper and wood, the new lamp series manifests Vipp’s continuous venture into natural materials. Every piece of paper is created through a hand-held process which adds a poetic dimension to the lampshades that each hold its own unique story and distinctive structure.
The floor lamp measurements: Ø 45 x H 112 cm.
Asian lanterns – the Danish way
Stretched over a metal grid held together by a top ring in dark, solid oak, the thin paper features vague textures creating a beautiful play of shadows through a warm diffusion of light.
