Lammhults is launching Aeris, an elegant aluminum chair by Danish designers Johannes Foersom & Peter Hiort-Lorenzen. The cast aluminum chair is scaled down and poetic, designed for conferences and public settings, but equally comfortable in a design-conscious home interior. The chair is expected to be the new bestseller and make quite an impression in the world of design.
Lammhults is strengthening its range with products that can be classed as ‘Modern Essentials’. The products should be obvious, scaled down and future classics. The cast aluminum chair Aeris fits in nicely with the wellconsidered design collection, with its scaled down yet poetic form.
“We set Peter and Johannes the brief of designing a simple, elegant, exclusive chair that will become the natural new chair for public environments. We have spent three years on product development, which shows how hard it can be to create a simple design. Aeris is the essence of the knowledge Lammhults has amassed in technology, innovation and design, and we are very proud of the results,” says Managing Director Åke Jansson.
The designers themselves confirm that they wanted to challenge the existing Lammhults collection with a chair made using a brand new technique.
Lammhults has teamed up with designers Johannes Foersom & Peter Hiort-Lorenzen several times to design chairs that have become classic design icons. The designers and producer all take care to develop products that stand the test of time, while also driving technical progress forward. 2005 saw the launch of Imprint, a wooden chair in a soft design. Other successful collaborations include Spira, Club and Campus.
The Aeris chair is cast in aluminum and comes in different versions: with or without armrests, as a swivel chair or a stackable chair. The seat shell is made from molded wood veneer (ash or wenge) and is also available with a fully or partially upholstered seat and back.
