Vertical Blinds Combine Sound Absorption and Sun Control

Ann Idstein developed System R and Vertical Blinds as vertical slat solutions within the Swedish manufacturer’s product range.

While many Ann Idstein products use horizontal slats, vertical slat configurations offer clear benefits in specific situations.

The vertical slats slide aside rather than pulling up or down, eliminating stacks of slats above or in front of windows. Vertical slats can cover full window fronts, offering sun protection while maintaining outside views through slat tilting.

System R is based on 250mm wide vertical slats and shares components with Ann Idstein’s regular Vertical Blinds in 89mm and 127mm widths. The slat width selection accommodates different fitting situations. The 250mm wide System R slats can be equipped with wooden slats applied horizontally on top of fabric, available in solid wood types and lacquered finishes in multiple colors.

The combination of 250mm wide slats with Ann Idstein felt material creates functional and acoustically efficient room dividers. Felt material is both robust and easy to maintain. The system fits to wall or ceiling with rails and components available in white or anodized aluminum. The 89mm and 127mm slats can be used for slope ceilings with angles up to 60 degrees.
