The Bruno Mathsson Prize 2009 is awarded to Cecilie Manz with the following motivation:

Cecilie Manz places herself in a Scandinavian tradition with a fully-fledged and artistic sense for form and function. She succeeds, as if by magic, in giving archetypal forms poetic dimensions. She gives modern Danish design a new quality mark.
The prize was awarded on September 25 at the Museum of Architecture in Stockholm by Barry Bergdoll, head of MoMA’s department for architecture and design.
