Claesson Koivisto Rune has won the BIG SEE Product Design Award 2026 in the Furniture for Living Spaces category for the Momo series, developed in collaboration with Arflex
The Momo series — comprising a chair and an armchair — takes its name from the Japanese word for peach, a reference to the rounded, plump quality of the upholstered cushions.
The design is structured around a minimalist tubular metal frame with black lacquered finish, onto which the cushions are positioned with characteristic indentations at each contact point.
The contrast between the rigidity of the frame and the softness of the foam is the defining visual and tactile quality of the collection.
Both pieces use moulded polyurethane foam over a polyester slip-cover base, with fully removable fabric upholstery across most configurations. The armchair features elastic-strap seat support; the chair relies on the metal frame directly. Arflex offers the series in a range of textile options.
The BIG SEE Awards are organised by Zavod Big in Slovenia and recognise design excellence across categories and regions. Momo was released in 2025 and presented at Salone del Mobile that year.
Claesson Koivisto Rune was founded in Stockholm in 1995 and works across architecture, interiors, and product design. Arflex is a Milan-based manufacturer with a history in moulded foam upholstery dating to the 1950s.
