Background
Bebo Objects is a Swedish furniture brand founded in Jönköping in 2022 by Mattias Karlsson. Its founding idea, expressed through the tagline Outside/Inside, is furniture built to move freely between garden and living room rather than furniture designed for one setting and merely tolerated in the other.
Design philosophy
The company’s stated aim is products with timeless lines and materials, made to last long enough that a customer’s children and grandchildren will one day want to take them over. Karlsson has described the approach as challenging norms around how furniture is used and how long it’s expected to last, with the goal of environments that stay genuinely liveable over time — a long product life, in Bebo’s framing, is itself a form of sustainability, on top of the separate work the company does to reduce its environmental footprint.
Key collaborations
Pierre Sindre designed the brand’s founding piece, the Lyre chair, in 2022, and returned the following year with the Solo seating collection. David Ericsson has become the brand’s most consistent collaborator, responsible for Exxo, the spring-steel Zola chair and the Baba Collection. Gothenburg-based Notchi Architects has built out an entire family with the Kane stools and the Circus table collection.
Recent work
Notchi Architects returned in 2026 to expand the Kane family further with a bench — the brand’s newest piece, and a sign that a four-year-old company is already building out its collections in depth rather than only adding new names.
