Zola Chair — David Ericsson for Bebo Objects

Zola A modern and comfortable café chair in spring steel.

Suitable for both outside and inside use.

With the technology of bending a solid piece of spring steel into a durable and comfortable seating furniture, Zola has created it´s own identity right from the start. With the dimpled holes you get sturdiness on the sheet metal and the rain easily falls off.

Design by David Ericsson.

Swedish designer David Ericsson has created the Zola chair for Bebo Objects, the Danish furniture brand known for products that move freely between interior and exterior settings.

Zola is built from a single solid wire of spring steel, bent into a Z-shaped leg structure that gives the chair its name and its character. The seat and backrest are formed from stamped sheet metal, with collar-shaped perforations that provide structural stability and allow rainwater to drain — making Zola as practical on a rain-exposed terrace as in a café or entrance hall. The chair is available in four colours: oyster white, pure red, sulfur yellow, and jet black. It is sold as a two-pack.

The design is catalogue number 012 in the Bebo Objects collection, and marks a continuation of Ericsson’s ongoing collaboration with the brand — which also includes the Exxo easy chair and the Baba table.

David Ericsson studied at the Carl Malmsten Furniture School and works from Stockholm. He was named Designer of the Year by Residence magazine in 2022 and received the same title from design magazine Form. His Oona chair was selected as Furniture of the Year by Sköna Hem in 2020. Bebo Objects, founded and based in Denmark, focuses on furniture suited equally to indoor and outdoor environments.
