The collection’s signature lies in its characteristic slanted legs that appear throughout the entire series
Born from a commission to furnish the renovation of the University of Copenhagen, the Copenhague collection has evolved into one of HAY’s most versatile and beloved furniture families. The Bouroullec brothers created a cohesive range of chairs, stools, tables and desks united by distinctive angled legs and refined functionality.
The collection’s signature lies in its characteristic slanted legs that appear throughout the entire series, creating a strong visual identity while maintaining exceptional versatility. Crafted from high-quality moulded plywood and solid wood with oak or beech veneers, each piece offers extensive customization possibilities through matching or contrasting tabletop and frame combinations.
From intimate café settings to expansive office landscapes, the Copenhague collection adapts seamlessly to diverse environments. The range encompasses upholstered and non-upholstered seating, compact desks to generous conference tables, and multifunctional benches that serve equally well as extra seating or low tables.
More than a decade after its launch, Copenhague continues to define timeless functionality and beauty, proving the Bouroullec brothers’ ability to create design that transcends trends and remains relevant across generations.
