The news
NC Nordic Care is introducing a new option for the Humlan furniture family by Eva Schildt: a metal leg stand in black. The addition complements the existing wooden frame in FSC®-certified birch or oak, giving the collection’s soft, rounded forms a slimmer and more graphic base. Humlan was launched in 2023 and has since been extended with the Humlan 722 coffee table and further coffee tables.
The design
Humlan is a furniture collection of sofas, armchairs, chairs and tables with soft, rounded forms. It is designed to create an inclusive and welcoming environment, breaking up the rigid geometry of a room and giving a softer impression. The pieces are generous and embracing in expression, yet neat enough to place easily.

A chair on wheels
Within the family, the Humlan chair with wheels offers mobility and seating comfort. It is designed for public environments where comfort and accessibility matter, such as conference rooms and schools. Being movable, the chair also makes cleaning easier.
Hygiene and function
For optimal hygiene, the seat fabrics are removable and washable, and an optional rubber fabric, or hospital fabric, is available for the seat. A gap between seat and backrest reduces the risk of dirt and bacteria build-up.
Materials and options
Humlan is made of FSC®-certified birch or oak and is certified with Möbelfakta. The wooden frame is available as standard in clear lacquer, white or black, with custom colours on request. The new metal frame comes in black as standard, and the collection is offered in a choice of fabrics. Solid wood and removable seat upholstery support reuse over time.
