The family-owned design brand reintroduces the BM375 Nesting Tables, a classic wooden design from the archives created by the esteemed Børge Mogensen dating back to 1962. This iconic piece, with its sculptural elegance and simplicity, exudes Danish design heritage while exemplifying Mogensen’s profound appreciation for woodcraft.
Demonstrating Fredericia’s long-standing tradition and expertise in well-designed, quality wooden furniture, the Nesting Tables’ functionality and simple aesthetic are excellent examples of Mogensen’s practical approach to design. This approach not only fulfills a purpose but also contributes to the overall look of the interior decor, providing the perfect setting for a personal tableau. Utilising Mogensen’s signature joinery technique, the tables exude craftsmanship and attention to detail.
A legacy of enduring furniture
Taught by architect and furniture designer Kaare Klint at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts School of Architecture, Mogensen continued the ideals of evolutionary design essential to Klint’s principles while exploring classic cabinet-maker typologies and techniques, expanding design traditions.
Mogensen’s lifelong ambition to create durable furniture that enriches everyday lives and endures for generations is evident in the Nesting Tables. Developed during his influential collaboration and friendship with Andreas Graversen, Fredericia’s CEO from 1955 to 1995, these tables epitomise their shared vision of crafting high-quality furniture with an enduring aesthetic appeal.
Originally a part of Graversen’s private residence, the Nesting Tables carry a rich narrative of form, functionality and beauty. Despite their slender build, the tables create an impressive cubic form, radiating solidity and minimalist elegance. The design, consisting of three tables crafted in oak, offers unparalleled flexibility as they can be used individually or combined to create an impressive coffee table adaptable to suit the surrounding space and layout. When used together, the tables offer a sculptural presence that enhances the interior.
The FSC® certified wooden tables are made from a solid oak base supporting an elegant veneer tabletop, seamlessly blending strength with aesthetics.
