GEMYT is designed by Sami Kallio 2024.
Made with a a backrest in solid steambent beech, sculptured to it’s shape in one single piece. The designer has with a careful hand balanced it’s form into a timeless design, between the contemporary and classic.
The bowl-shaped seat is padded with a generous natural filling, dressed in vegetable tanned leather or natural textile, offering a superb seat comfort.
The elegant armrests offers just the right comfort without being in the way.
It’s clever design allows it to slide under most tables, as well as possible to hang onto the table top.
GEMYT is just as beautiful and useful at the Restaurant or Library as at home.
About Sami Kallio
Sami Kallio was born in Finland and raised in Sweden, where he honed his skills in traditional woodworking craftsmanship, such as compression molding and woodturning. An award-winning designer with a studio based in in Gothenburg, Kallio designs furniture and interiors translating classical shapes into contemporary expressions with an industrial aesthetic which resonate with a modern-minded audience. Man, and machine both play a role in many of Kallio’s creations. Merging modern methods of industrial manufacturing with handcrafted techniques. The result is a refreshing balance between the past and the present.
