Hashira — a lighting collection designed by Norm Architects for Menu (now Audo Copenhagen), launched in 2020.
The collection — comprising floor, pendant and table lamps — draws on the traditional Japanese rice paper lantern, reinterpreted through a Nordic lens.
The name hashira translates as “pillar” or “column” in Japanese.
Hashira represents the studio’s ongoing interest in East-West material dialogues: washi paper meets minimalist Scandinavian structure, resulting in a warm, diffused light quality suited to contemporary interiors.
