“At the beginning of the 1980s, I had a particularly close and intensive contact with Bruno Mathsson.” Says Håkan Sjöman, chairman of Bruno Mathsson International and Mathsson Fund. “We then discussed including the development of models. Bruno showed me confidently and enthusiastically sketches the development of existing models and drawings of the new models. He also talked about his thoughts on new models and adds to existing models. In one such conversation told Bruno Mathsson if he was going to complement Jetson with a footstool. Several of his other chairs had been provided with footstool and he thought it might be a good addition also to Jetson. The stool should have the same structure as Jetson, the same foot and frame and is also generally the same design language. We were agreed that this was a good idea. Work Mathsson Fund and towards the end failing health meant that Bruno Mathsson never came to realize his idea. ”

Bruno Mathsson International has now Bruno Mathsson spirit made ​​a footstool to Jetson. The production was done in close collaboration with the skilled artisan Sven-Ane Carlson, who was Bruno Mathsson confidant of craft questions and made ​​prototypes for Bruno Mathsson steel furniture. The footstool looks just as Bruno told me that he thought it about. It has the shape details and design, as Bruno Mathsson would have given it. It is in every part sprung from his idea.
