Visir Wall is a wall sconce designed by Pierre Sindre

The lamp is conceived as a fixed sconce — a typology that Sindre describes as forgotten, and to which Visir Wall serves as a conscious homage.

The design looks back to the oil lamps of the 19th century, drawing on their character and presence as its primary reference point.

The light Visir Wall produces is diffuse rather than directional. The metal hood reflects light backwards onto the wall behind the fitting, creating softly glowing coronas — areas of graduated light that spread from the lamp and give the wall a warmth and depth that direct lighting rarely achieves. This quality of light is closer to candlelight or flame than to contemporary electric illumination, and it is this historical and atmospheric reference that defines the lamp’s identity.

Visir Wall is the third member of the Visir family, alongside the original Visir table lamp and the Ambience — a sibling piece also designed by Pierre Sindre for Örsjö. Together they form a coherent family of lamps united by a shared interest in the atmospheric and historical dimensions of lighting, and by a formal language that is spare and precise without becoming cold.
