Ray design by Pierre Sindre – Örsjö Belysning

Ray design by Pierre Sindre

Ray is an exciting mix of glass, raw brass and the latest LED technique.

A high-end glass lamp designed to hang over the bar, the conference table or over the dining table at home.

Ray is a pendant lamp designed by Pierre Sindre for Swedish lighting manufacturer Örsjö Belysning. The lamp combines hand-blown glass with raw brass fittings and current LED technology, resulting in a fixture positioned as a high-end solution for contract and residential environments.

The design is intended for use over bar counters, conference tables, or dining tables at home — contexts where a pendant lamp is both a functional light source and a focal point in the room. Ray’s proportions and material combination are calibrated for these situations: the glass diffuses light warmly while the raw brass details add visual weight and material contrast.

Pierre Sindre is a Swedish designer and interior architect based in Malmö, awarded the Bruno Mathsson Prize in 2022. His collaboration with Örsjö Belysning has produced several products in recent years, including the Visir table lamp and its subsequent extensions. Ray represents a shift in scale and setting, moving from portable tabletop lighting to a fixed pendant format suited to larger tables and public spaces.

Örsjö Belysning is a Swedish lighting manufacturer founded in 1946 and based in Örsjö, Småland. The company works with Swedish and international designers, with a focus on combining craft tradition with contemporary design.
