During 3daysofdesign 2026, Sibast Furniture introduced the new Primum Lounge Collection – expanding the distinctive design language of the Primum series into a complete lounge setting.

Designed by upholsterer and designer Henrik Hvid Hansen, the collection consists of the new Primum Lounge Chair and Primum Lounge Table, translating the characteristic comfort and sculptural expression of the original Primum dining chair into a more relaxed and architectural context.

The collection reflects Henrik Hvid Hansen’s long-standing understanding of upholstery craftsmanship and how the body settles into furniture – combining refined proportions with lasting comfort.

The new lounge chair introduces a lighter and more contemporary expression through a newly developed base, available in both aluminum and black finishes. Upholstery is offered in a curated selection of textiles and leather, while the accompanying lounge table is available with either a solid oak or marble tabletop.

A defining feature of the Primum Lounge chair is its flexible back support, allowing the upholstered backrests to adapt naturally to the body and create a calm, balanced seating experience. The lounge chair is available both with and without armrests, as well as with an optional tilt function, further enhancing comfort and flexibility across hospitality spaces, meeting rooms, lounges, lobbies, and private interiors.

'Primum lounge table

The Primum Lounge Table has been developed in collaboration with Anna and Ditlev Sibast, introducing subtle references to the Sibast design heritage through its tabletop detailing and material expression. Drawing on elements from the iconic Sibast No 7 family, the table creates a natural connection between the upholstered Primum collection and the classic woodworking traditions of Sibast Furniture – reinforcing the vision of The New Sibast as one cohesive design universe.

Together, the lounge collection extends the Primum series beyond the dining setting, creating a more complete architectural language across hospitality spaces, meeting rooms, lounges, lobbies, and private interiors. The result is a cohesive furniture family where comfort, craftsmanship, and materiality are brought together through one unified design direction.

“With the Primum Lounge Collection, we wanted to extend the Primum universe into a more relaxed and atmospheric setting – while maintaining the same clarity, comfort, and sculptural identity that define the original chair. At the same time, the collection reflects the direction of The New Sibast, where upholstery and woodworking traditions come together in one cohesive design universe,” says Anna Sibast, Director and Co-owner of Sibast Furniture.
