Swiss Designer Christophe Marchand Creates System W
Swiss industrial designer Christophe Marchand created System W for Ann Idstein as a timeless classic in the Swedish manufacturer’s collection.
The design concept focuses on adjustable textile elements that can be moved freely rather than covering the full space between floor and ceiling. System W functions as both a sun shade and partial room divider.
Flexible functionality and aesthetic lightness characterize System W, manufactured from high-quality aluminum and stainless steel components with high-end textiles. The system with cord control is offered in three versions. The basic W1 type has one textile fond and one cord control. System W2 functions similarly to W1 but features two textile fonds connected at a fixed distance. System W3 has two cord controls, enabling two textile fonds to be adjusted individually.
All cord control System W versions can be equipped with gliders, enabling the system to slide sideways in a track rail. The W1 and W2 types can also be motorized. Ann Idstein, the family-owned Swedish manufacturer established in 1956, produces each System W to measure from its Dalby workshop.
