Museum Trolley and Pedestal Join String Furniture Collection by TAF
TAF Studio is expanding String Furniture’s Museum collection with two new products: the Museum Trolley and Museum Pedestal, both pre-launched during Stockholm Design Week.
The additions continue the collection’s exploration of industrial aesthetics and functional design.

The Museum Trolley features extruded aluminum construction, while the Museum Pedestal is crafted from cast aluminum. Both pieces reference industrial components and machinery that inspired the original Museum collection, which TAF Studio created for String Furniture in 2018.
The Museum collection originated when String Furniture and TAF Studio collaborated on furniture for the reopening of Stockholm’s National Museum. The initial console shelf was designed to support selected objects from the museum’s collections. Since then, the series has grown to include a candle holder and a side table, with the latter now also available in a new Red Rust finish exclusive to stringfurniture.com.
According to designers Gabriella Lenke and Mattias Ståhlbom of TAF Studio, the Museum series builds on references to industrial environments and their components. The side table’s rear post, for example, is modeled after the I-beam—an architectural element chosen purely for function that becomes beautiful through recontextualization. The new rust-red color honors this industrial heritage, as it represents the most common finish of unprocessed I-beams.
The Museum Trolley and Pedestal join the existing collection as versatile pieces that combine mobility and display functionality. Both maintain TAF Studio’s design philosophy of transforming everyday industrial forms into refined furniture through careful attention to proportion and material.
