8000 Series. Designed by Rud Thygesen & Johnny Sørensen
The 8000 series is a design icon produced by Magnus Olesen since 1981.
The furniture is based on a unique and patended production technology without the use of screws and dowels, which makes the furniture incredibly strong and very flexible despite its low weight.
The chair has been a part of many Danes’ upbringing in schools and institutionalinteriors and is known as part of the interior design of ‘Cafe Victor’ when it first opened in Copenhagen.
In 2021, Magnus Olesen brings the 80s to life with a relaunch of the iconic 8000 series chair in 9 new colors – all in FSC lacquered beech. The colors of the lacquered chairs are color choices from the designers’ own hands – complimented by muted colors in the trend of the time.
