Swedish designer Peter Andersson has designed the Charlie chair

For NC Nordic Care, a Swedish furniture manufacturer specialising in wooden contract furniture for care, healthcare, and public environments.

Charlie is conceived as an inclusive care chair that addresses the full range of practical requirements in care settings while maintaining a consistent design character.

The chair features full-length armrests for stability and tip resistance, with a handle on the backrest to support standing and moving. The upholstered seat is removable and washable, and the seat surface uses rubber fabric for hygienic ease of cleaning. Charlie can be suspended for cleaning and is stackable, supporting flexible furnishing and efficient maintenance routines. The chair is produced in FSC-certified oak and birch and carries Möbelfakta certification. It is tested for public use according to EN 16139 standards for durability and safety.

Peter Andersson is a Swedish product and interior designer born in 1970, who graduated from Konstfack University of Arts, Crafts and Design in 1999 and subsequently established Peter Andersson Studio (PAS) in Stockholm. For NC Nordic Care, Andersson has designed multiple products including the Rialto, Knut, Tilt, and Charlie chairs, the Kompis stool, the Jackie chair and sofa series, the John armchair, and the Chikan table in collaboration with Matti Klenell. Among his awards are the Forsnäs Prize in 1995, Young Swedish Form in 1998 and 1999, Excellent Swedish Form in 2000, and work scholarships from Konstnärsnämnden in 2001 and 2004.
