Designed by EOOS, the Embrace Outdoor Lounge Series is characterised by balancing soft upholstery and stringent wood perfectly. The modular sofa encourages outdoor relaxation with its comfortable upholstery and laid-back look, and, at the same time, it has a tight and contemporary idiom with its woven arm- and backrests and teak frame. The lounge table has a clear kinship to the existing tables of the Embrace Series with its distinct and floating expression.
EOOS has been part of Carl Hansen & Søn’s collection for nearly 10 years, growing the Embrace Series into an extensive collection of both dining and lounge furniture for indoors and outdoors. The Embrace Series bridges EOOS’ contemporary design idiom with Carl Hansen & Søn’s craftsmanship expertise and presents a modern take on wooden furniture.
Embrace Outdoor Sofa
The Embrace Outdoor Sofa is extremely flexible with its seven modules and textiles in six colours that can be mixed and matched, making it possible to customise each sofa individually. Depending on your needs, the sofa can either be made larger or smaller and, due to its sturdy construction, it is perfectly suited for both residential and public environments.
All parts of the sofa, including the upholstery, are removeable, making it possible to be repaired or replaced. The cushions are made from quick-drying foam and water-resistant textiles. The back- and armrests are hand-woven in flat rope, and it takes a skilled weaver up to six hours to finish one backrest. Crafted in solid teak, the side table almost floats above the frame and the wooden armrests are generously shaped for extra comfort and functionality.
Embrace Outdoor Lounge Table
Like all Embrace Tables, the outdoor lounge table is inspired by kites and their distinct wires, which is reflected in the steel construction anchored in the wooden base. The daisy pattern on the tabletop consists of 43 pieces of teak, meticulously cut, sanded and mounted to fit into the circular shape.
Both the table and sofa are crafted in FSC-certified untreated teak, which is a durable and highly weather-resistant wood type, perfect for the outdoors. Untreated, teak has a dynamic and warm spectrum of colours and, with time, untreated teak will gain a beautiful silver-greyish hue as it patinates.
