VINDA Room Divider represents Jonas Bohlin’s latest contribution to contemporary Scandinavian design—a striking piece that embodies his signature approach of merging artistic vision with architectural precision.
Crafted with meticulous attention to material integrity, VINDA features a harmonious composition of cast iron feet, elegant brass tubes and attachments, and solid oak poles. Available in heights of 200 or 250 cm with a width of 150 cm, this room divider makes a bold yet refined statement in any space. The substantial 24 cm diameter cast iron feet provide perfect stability while the 15 mm brass tubing creates a delicate visual counterpoint.
Proudly made in Sweden, VINDA continues Bohlin’s tradition of exceptional craftsmanship and material honesty that has defined his work for over four decades.
About Jonas Bohlin: Breaking Boundaries While Maintaining Connections
Jonas Bohlin’s journey as a pioneering force in Swedish design began at Konstfack, The National College of Art, Craft and Design in Stockholm, where he graduated in 1981. His provocative graduation piece—the now-iconic Concrete chair—immediately established him as a designer who would challenge conventions by juxtaposing raw industrial materials with elegant forms.
Born in Stockholm in 1953, Bohlin has consistently crossed boundaries between design, art, and architecture without sacrificing functionality or purpose. This distinctive approach has earned him prestigious recognitions including the Bruno Mathsson Prize (2014), the Prince Eugen Medal (2014), and the Golden Chair at the Architecture Gala (2016). He also served as professor at Konstfack from 2004 to 2009.
Throughout his distinguished career, Bohlin has created numerous pieces that have become landmarks in Swedish furniture design. From the zinc floor shelf Zink (1984) to the Slottsbacken cabinet (1987), the LIV collection (1997), the Kvist lamp (1999), and the Vilda chair (2010)—each work demonstrates his masterful balance of aesthetic innovation and functional integrity.
Beyond furniture design, Bohlin has transformed Stockholm’s urban landscape through his restaurant interiors for iconic establishments like Rolfs Kök, Sturehof, and Riche, as well as architectural projects including weather shelters for Stockholm’s tramways and his own award-winning house Ängsvillan.
