Scandinavian mid-century design aesthetics and Brazilian Modernism meet in the Brasilia Collection, originally imagined for Audo House by Anderssen & Voll.
“The design was directly inspired by the mood at Audo House. There was something about the setting that made us think of more exotic variations of Modernism rather than our own familiar Scandinavian roots,” say the designers.
The Brasilia Sofa continues this harmonious blend of styles. Large enough for reclining with ease yet small enough to fit compact spaces, its bold and inviting form comprises a solid wood frame with rounded front legs, exaggerated armrests and plush cushioning. Offered in three wood finishes and a comprehensive range of upholstery options, the low-back, two-seater design exudes a sense of relaxation and sophistication as a standalone piece or as a part of the wider Brasilia collection.
The Brasilia Lounge Chair is now offered in a low back version, its inviting form providing enhanced comfort and support. As a supplement to the original lounger design and complementing the low profile of the Brasilia Sofa, it allows for the creation of a complete series of lounge furniture. Crafted using traditional joinery techniques, the wooden frame features cylindrical front legs and broad wooden slats at the back, lending the chair its distinctive look. Available in three wood options and a range of soft upholstery fabrics, including sheepskin, it can be tailored to fit any setting.
The Brasilia Lounge Table complements these seating options, making a striking statement whether paired with the table, chairs and sofa or used independently. Its fused, tempered opti-white glass tabletop creates a light expression and rounded corners ensure a streamlined look, melding perfectly with the subtly curved solid wood base, available in three wood types.
Fitting seamlessly into both residential and professional environments, the luxurious comfort and distinctive design of the Brasilia Collection makes it perfect for living rooms, lounges and reception areas.
About the Designer
Norwegian designers Torbjørn Anderssen and Espen Voll joined forces in 2009, establishing their studio in Oslo from where they create furniture, lighting and interior accessories for a host of international brands. With numerous international accolades under their belt – including a Wallpaper* Design Award and Red Dot Award – their designs are imbued with a modern expression yet transcend trends. Cognisant of the importance and power of beauty in a product, their meticulously crafted designs are imagined over coffee, sketched on paper, rendered on computer and built to elaborate scale models refined to the very last detail.
