Hem has introduced a velvet upholstery option for the Puffy collection, designed by Faye Toogood.

The new material expression brings a subtle richness to the seating line while accentuating its generous, quilt-like forms.

The detachable upholstery of the Puffy Lounge Chair is fat and plump, its shape spilling freely over the sides of a tubular steel frame that stands in stark contrast — hard-lined and strong.

The two key elements of Toogood’s design sit in purposeful and playful juxtaposition: an elementary frame inspired by the rational structure of classic modernist design, paired with extravagant, quilt-like upholstery that envelops and reassures.

The Puffy Chair frame is available in powder-coated or sand-blasted steel finishes, with a choice of thick canvas, chunky bouclé, luxurious leather, or now velvet upholstery.

Faye Toogood’s practice spans interior design, homewares, fine art, and fashion, moving freely between disciplines. Architects, sculptors, furniture makers, and illustrators cross-pollinate across her studio’s projects, producing work that is rigorous, poetic, and experimental.
