HEM introduces the Max Table and Max Bench by Max Lamb in black stained ash

The solid ash collection, defined by extreme length and architectural form, now includes this darker finish alongside the original expression.

Carved from solid ash, the Max Table was designed with strength as a primary requirement—built to be stood upon.

The piece functions as structure rather than conventional furniture, with dimensions and construction that anchor interior spaces.

The new black stained ash finish creates darker visual presence while maintaining visible grain beneath the stain. This treatment adds depth and texture to the monolithic form without concealing the material’s natural characteristics.

Max Lamb approaches design through direct methods, combining traditional craft with digital techniques. A Royal College of Art graduate, Lamb works with natural materials to create sculptural furniture that emphasizes durability and material honesty.

The Max furniture collection is produced by HEM, the Swedish furniture company. Both the Max Table and Max Bench remain available through HEM’s network in original ash and black stained ash finishes.
