För fjärde året i rad har Muuto hållit sin årliga designtävling för nordiska designstuderande. 2012 var ännu ett framgångsrikt år för tävlingen, som återigen hade fler inslag än någonsin, med hundratals bidrag från begåvade designstudenter från hela Skandinavien. Årets vinnare är den svenska designeleven Charlotte Ackemar och hennes skulpturala Tick Tock, Wooden Lock.
Under sensommaren och tidig höst 2012, deltog elever från de 20 största designskolorna i Sverige, Norge, Finland, Danmark och Island i Muutos årliga designtävling Muuto Talent Award. Fram till deadline i mitten av september mottog juryn hundratals designbidrag i de tre kategorierna: möbler, belysning och tillbehör.
Efter en omfattande beslutsprocess, utsåg juryn Charlotte Ackemar till 2012 års vinnare. Som inspiration till klockan, berättar Ackemar, ville hon komma helt tillbaka till klockans grundläggande form och funktion, i det här fallet, klockans stora kropp och pendelns rörelse. Genom att dela klockan i geometriska snitt och linjer, förenklade hon dess form och införlivade pendelns rörelse i klockans figur. Ett starkt fokus på detaljer var bara ett av juryns skäl till att välja Tick Tock, Wooden Clock.
