PH Artichoke Anniversary Edition

Among Poul Henningsen’s most iconic lighting designs is the PH Artichoke and this anniversary edition pays homage to the original 1958 design with the pale rose colour on the inside of each of the 72 leaves. The leaves are carefully mounted on a frame finished in metallised brass, that will retain its shine over the years.

PH 5 Anniversary Edition is only available in 2024, as are the anniversary editions of AJ Mini and Panthella 160 Portable. The anniversary editions of PH Artichoke and PH Snowball are available while stocks last, as only 300 pendants with individual engraved numbers have been made.

Poul Henningsen developed the PH 5 in 1958 in response to constant changes in the shape and size of incandescent bulbs, creating a lamp that could be used with any light source.
The iconic design is based on the same principles as Henningsen’s three-shade system, which ensures that the light is soft, pleasant and completely glare-free, making it the perfect dining room table lamp.
Originally, the PH 5 was fitted with red and blue shades to improve the colour of the light, however these have been removed in later designs as modern light sources reproduce daylight much more effectively than they did in 1958.
Available in a number of different colour variations, the PH 5 is a much-loved and well-known pendant, that is found in many homes around the world.
This anniversary edition is painted matte white on the outside, with pale rose on the inside, which provides a soft, warm light, while the supports made of metallised brass add a beautiful touch.
