“There is a lack of high quality copper and brass outdoor luminaires on the market, and with Örsjö´s recognized craftsmanship, Cake can contribute to fill this gap and become something new and justified”, Lars Bülow says.
In 1988 the architects Kersti Sandin and Lars Bülow designed a lamp named Minimalen, a copper lampshade on a strict chromed base. The lamp was produced in only a few copies, but its shape remained in the minds of the designers.
35 years later the lampshade reappears transformed into the outdoor luminaire range Cake,as the starting point of a cooperation between the design studio S+B Stockholm and Örsjö. The name Cake comes from the lampshade´s resemblance to an upside-down metal baking pan.
